About
The sunset is no less beautiful than the sunrise,
Candace is an end-of-life doula, funeral celebrant and registered funeral provider (reg. no. F0000562U) who believes that one of the most life-affirming things a person can do is to prepare for one's death. She has worked with people in transitions of many kinds over the last 19 years, from recovery from addiction, through family turmoil, to end-of-life care and families in grief. She sees her role as helping individuals plan for and have their preferred death, and helping families embrace and support not only the dying person but each other to the greatest extent possible.
Candace is on the Board of Directors for Holistic End of Life & Deathcare Australia (HELD). Other memberships include the Australian Home Funeral Alliance (AHFA), Natural Death Advocacy Network (NDAN) and Palliative Care Victoria (PCV). She holds a BA in Human Development and a MSc in Transpersonal Psychology. In addition to doula training with Preparing the Way and celebrancy training with Sally Cant, she also has trained in addictions counseling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and ASIST suicide prevention.

Testimonials
Candace was a wonderful support during the final days before our brother's passing, staying with him late into the night and past the point when we were physically and emotionally exhausted. She handled funeral arrangements with calm attention. Having Candace involved eased our burden at what could have been a much more difficult experience.
A softly spoken and well informed doula
/ Chris FleggCandace has a way of knowing what needs to be done and does it gently and with a smile. When our family member died, she helped us with the vigil and helped us care for the body. She liaised with the funeral company to make sure every detail was considered and appropriate for our family.
