Rosehaven Mansfield provides nonclinical respite and end-of-life care to people with a life limiting illness.

We are a 5-bedroom guest home set on 4 and half acres of established gardens, a real home away from home, walking distance to the main street, hospital, and GP clinics.

We have over 80 active volunteers

Our local clinical services are unable to provide daily and/or regular services to people that live outside of Mansfield township. This removes people’s choice of being able to die at home, this could be contributing to the statistics of why 70% of Australians would like to die at home and only 14% do. Regional and remote people are ending up in acute facilities just to die, taking up acute beds, costing the government and our communities.  

Only 10% of care when people are actively dying requires clinical care.

With our model at Rosehaven we allow people to continue to live until their very last breath. Families are encouraged to stay, their animals are welcome, we can decorate their room, or even paint it in colour of choice.  

Services Rosehaven provides free of charge -

• End of Life care, support, and advocacy, including a team of trained death doulas.

• Medical equipment loan service.
• Community Outreach Program. Providing companioning, respite (including inhouse overnight), assistance with Activities Of Daily living, transport to and from appointments, shopping, meal preparation

• Palliative Paws Including feeding out to cattle, rugging up horses etc..
• Memoir
• Voluntary Assisted Dying volunteer support program including transport to appointments, witnessing of documents, a home to come to when accessing medication.
